RED POWER.

This social movement surged out of the 1960s and fought for Native American sovereignty. Alongside the Black Panthers and Brown Berets, this movement also fought police brutality and worked for Native self-determination and cultural preservation.

The movement realized many historic actions that are still remembered today, such as 1978’s Longest Walk, in which hundreds to thousands of Native American activists marched 3,000 miles from Alcatraz in San Francisco to Washington, DC in an effort to uphold our communities' land and water rights.

The fight continues.
