Photos by @paoloverzone / For two decades, a menagerie of frozen animal carcasses has passed through the CT scanners of Ohio's O'Bleness Hospital, including this Siamese crocodile. Larry Witmer, an anatomist at nearby Ohio University, uses the resulting scans to reconstruct the internal anatomy hidden within the skulls of extinct dinosaurs.

Siamese crocodiles are critically endangered; this individual died of natural causes.
