In an age when identity has become one of the last shared lenses through which to interpret the present and imagine the future, a group of pioneering artists and thinkers are exploring a realm where the very notion of humanity is now reductive and obsolete. We are all living an increasingly large part of our lives online, and genetics and biotechnology may soon be able to take human nature to its extreme. In this perspective, director Ben Ditto and musician Arca are using various media (from image-making and video to performance, fashion and beauty) to experiment with new dimensions and definitions of the concept of identity – blurring all categories to shape a radically new post-human iconography.
Arca, Jaco Pesudo and Ben Ditto will present a collaborative custom-made artwork dedicated to this theme.
