Aujourd’hui, focus sur ce buste de femme en terre cuite. 🔎 - ✍️ Après avoir été longtemps ignoré, ce buste a été finalement reconnu comme un chef-d'oeuvre de la sculpture étrusque en terre cuite. Il s’agit d’une création originale exécutée à Faléries dans les premières décennies du IIIe siècle av. J.-C., au début de l'époque hellénistique. - 🍇 Voilée et coiffée d'une couronne de pampres et de feuilles de vigne, attribut bachique, cette sculpture représente vraisemblablement Ariane. Elle figurait sans doute dans un groupe cultuel, aux côtés de son époux, le dieu Dionysos, selon une iconographie attestée par de nombreux vases à figures rouges produits dans la région de Faléries. - 👀 Le traitement du drapé, le sculpteur jouant d'effets de clair-obscur et de matière des différentes étoffes, rappelle celui des figures féminines sculptées dans la seconde moitié du IVe siècle, notamment sur les stèles funéraires attiques. - - - - 🌎 Let’s inspect the works of the museum with #LouvreDetails! Produced in the early third century BC, it falls within the Greek sculptural tradition of the classical period. - 🍇 Veiled and wearing a crown of vine branches and leaves (an attribute of Dionysos), this sculpture probably represents Ariadne. It is likely that she was part of a cult group along with her husband, the god Dionysos - iconography found on many red-figure vases made in the Falerii region. - 👀 The treatment of the drapery, with the sculptor making use of effects produced by chiaroscuro and the various materials, is reminiscent of that of sculpted female figures of the second half of the fourth century BC, particularly in Attic funerary stelae. - 📷 ©️ Musée du Louvre, dist.
