🎨  La silhouette de l'homme au gant émerge de l'ombre. Le modèle pose dans une attitude naturelle presque nonchalante. L'identité de ce jeune homme n'a jamais été réellement établie.

🧤 L'élégance de ses vêtements, en particulier le raffinement des gants de cuir, ou sa coiffure soignée, laissent supposer qu'il s'agit d'un aristocrate, âgé de dix-huit ou vingt ans, soucieux d'être habillé à la mode vénitienne de son temps.

👨‍🎨 Par un choix de couleurs, volontairement restreintes et contrastées, Titien met en valeur le caractère du personnage. Peint probablement vers 1520, ce portrait de jeunesse annonce les nombreuses effigies de monarques et d'aristocrates qui ont valu au maître vénitien le surnom de "peintre des princes".

🧤 The elegance of his appearance, particularly the refined touches of the leather gloves and the carefully coiffed hair, suggest that he was an aristocrat aged about eighteen or twenty, who was an avid follower of fashion in the Venice of his day.

👨‍🎨 Titian has deliberately used a limited and contrasting range of colors to bring out the sitter's character. The work was probably painted shortly before 1520, when the artist was still a young man in Venice. It heralds the numerous portraits of monarchs and aristocrats that earned Titian the name of "painter of princes."
