This year, it’s a little bittersweet putting up my Christmas tree. • Last year when I was decorating my house for Christmas, I was with the person I loved and thought was going to spend my life with. But plans changed around the same time. That was followed by a year of heartbreak, self discovery, new paths, and stronger friendships, all while dealing with a global pandemic. • This has been a whirlwind of a year. Sad,terrifying, uncertain, but also wonderful, exhilarating, and liberating. Decorating my very own Christmas tree last night in my own apartment for the very first time of my life, a lot of emotions came over me. A lot of memories came flooding back. I miss parts of my old life, but am so proud of where I am now.
