The JABCECC has rescues that the majority of our guests won’t have the opportunity to meet. The reason for this is because many of our rescues would have an increase in stress when encountering new people. Some of our rescues have come directly from a place of trauma, some have been loved by humans, some have been nurtured from an early age; however are still not happy being around new people. All of our animals are evaluated for their appropriateness as Ambassador animals and the degree of human interaction with priority being placed on their welfare at all times.

The evaluation occurs daily because we all know, sometimes we are just having a bad day and want some alone time... and that is okay. This is why we never can guarantee which animals you will meet and to which extent you can interact with them.

2020 has surpassed our expectations with new rescues, Ambassadors, and additions to our team! We have some amazing plans for 2021 and as we venture into the fall/winter, we will be sharing our plans for new programs, expansion, collaborations, and new canid species. We continue to appreciate your ongoing support as our small non-profit grows. We cherish our volunteers for allowing us to fill in the gaps of our skill sets and bring amazing ideas and support! We are always looking to develop new collaborations and welcome to our pack new volunteers.

To volunteer, we require a commitment of at least one day a month for general volunteer. For a volunteer with direct access to the animals (handler or programs), we require 2 day commitment a month.
