She plays Virginia Woolf’sprophetic genderless love seeker who lives for at least 400 years. Age 13 and I was hooked. 1 &5/ Wittgenstein (1993)Derek Jarnan this got 2 slides as she is so fabulously camp as Lady Ottoline Morell Blue 1993 Derek Jarman film in blue depicting Jarmans declining eyesight due to aids, narrated by Matilda (not pictured) 5/ Female Perversions (1996) by Susan Streitfeld Tilda plays Eve Stephens in her first American film. I became obsessed, aged 17. 6/ Love Is the Devil: Study for a Portrait of Francis Bacon (1998) by John Maybury with Tilda in one of my favorite performances as Muriel Belcher, drunk and proprietress of a private e flush drinking club. 7/ The War Zone (1999 by #TimRoth Tilda plays a mother recently given birth in the most harrowing landscape and circumstances 8/ The Beach (2001) by Danny Boyle Tilda plays tribe leader Sal and brings life to a lackluster film in her first big Hollywood film. 9/ The Deep End (2001) by Scott McGehee & David Seigel Tilda plays Margaret a mother who will do anything to hide the crime of passion of her gay teenage son. .
