When I lived in Kansas City, MO (where I grew up), we were poor. We would have to walk to my grandmother’s house or our friends’ houses - it didn’t matter if it was cold or hot. And when we would get tired of walking, we would just start running, so we ended up running everywhere we went. I got into other sports as I went through school, but I always ran. It felt like I was defying gravity when I was running. I was a sprinter, and I just felt like I wasn’t even touching the ground. I used to always take off my shoes because I could feel my toes barely touching the pavement, and that’s when I knew I was going fast. I started training people 20 years ago, and then started officially coaching/personal training about 10 years ago. It’s something I’ve always enjoyed because I enjoy people. I enjoy the physical aspect, but it’s not the main thing - it’s seeing people do something they once thought was impossible. I have learned that most people think that they want the physical change, but that they’re really looking for something more than the physical - the release of stress, the change of mindset, self-belief, self-respect, or maybe resilience.    When I was in San Diego in early 2000, I got to meet Eric Gilsenan. He asked me if he could send me a pair of HOKA shoes to show his appreciation for all I was doing for the endurance community. Little did I know that this interaction would lead me to a company of people that not only cares about selling a product, but that cares about how people feel about themselves. HOKA wants to give people the freedom to be who they are at any given time, in any way, shape, or form - whether it’s through running, through triathlon, or through outreach to the community/being an activist for change.   HOKA has shown me that we have a bigger purpose within the endurance community than we know. I always try to set an example for anyone who is watching, and HOKA does the same thing. This is where I’m meant to be."   - Morgon Latimore (@coachmorgonlatimore) #HumansofHOKA #TimeToFly」10月29日 0時01分 - hoka
