'A dadaesque mannequin welcomes everybody to my studio, wearing a crown of anteater quills, assorted bling and blasts of fluorescent paint. This fabulous usher commands you to open your eyes and be fabulous, like me.' 👑🎨⭐ - @chilaburman
Click the link in our bio to read on as artist Chila Kumari Singh Burman introduces us to her blinged-up East London studio, filled with materials that express her Asian identity as well as her working-class Liverpudlian childhood. She is currently preparing a new work to light up Tate Britain’s iconic façade in time for winter and in time for Diwali, the Hindu festival of lights. ❄️✨ If you look closely in the second image you'll see a tiny, embellished 3D model of Tate Britain, which she has been working on in preparation.
