Photos by Prasenjeet Yadav @prasen.yadav / The Asiatic ibex is a species of a goat that's extraordinarily sure-footed and often spotted in cold deserts, steep terrain, cliffs, and rocky outcrops. To escape predators, they are known to take refugee in precipitous and rugged locations. While working on the snow leopard story for @ナショナルジオグラフィック, I spent a lot of time looking at these ibex with the researchers from @snowleopardtrust. We watched them rest, eat, fight, and run on the deadly cliffs to escape snow leopards. The ibex is known to be the primary prey consumed by snow leopards. These images are taken during the summer and the winter season in the Himachal Pradesh, in India.
