On this day in 1962, The Beach Boys released their debut album, Surfin’ Safari. While the official production credit went to Nick Venet, Brian (just twenty-years-old) and his dad Murry contributed substantially to the album’s production. Brian said he wrote the song “Surfin’” after Dennis told him “surfing’s getting really big.
