フェンディがウィズコロナ以降にスタートさせた「フェンディ ルネサンス – アニマ・ムンディ」は、離れて活動せざるを得ない世界中の演奏家が再会し、再びオーケストラとして一つになって、活動の場を提供することで音楽と文化の再興を後押しするワールドワイドプロジェクト。また海外への渡航制限がある中で、各都市のランドスケープと音楽が融合したコンテンツを提供することで、ささやかな楽しみを味わってもらおうという意義あるプロジェクトです。

ブランドの故郷であるローマを皮切りに、第二弾の上海、そして第三弾の東京では、GINZA SIXの緑豊かな屋上庭園「GINZA SIXガーデン」も舞台のひとつに！

なお、この東京編では今回の新型コロナウイルス感染症以外にも、東日本大震災以降のこの10年、様々な困難に直面してきた日本において、懸命に未来に目を向け活動を続ける若い世代のアーティストを起用。東京藝術大学音楽学部の学生でバイオリニストの荒井里桜さんと、同大学出身のサクソフォン奏者である上野耕平さんが、フェンディの2020年プレフォールコレクションを纏い、ロッシリーニ作曲の「ウィリアム・テル序曲」からのフィナーレを伸びやかに演奏しています。

“Fendi Renaissance Anima - Mundi” is a project on a worldwide scale to support music and culture by providing a platform for musicians around the world to reconvene as an orchestra at a time when they are unable to physically tour. With overseas travel restricted for so many, the project also gives audiences a new experience through performances that bring together music with international cityscapes.

Following the first Fendi Renaissance performance set in the brand’s home city of Rome, the second installment was set in Shanghai, and the third in Tokyo. The Tokyo performance includes the verdant GINZA SIX Rooftop Garden as one of its settings.

Featured in the Tokyo installment are two up-and-coming Japanese musicians who’ve grown up in the difficult decade spanning between the 2011 Tohoku earthquake and the COVID-19 pandemic: violinist Rio Arai and saxophonist Kohei Ueno. Arai is a current student at the Department of Music at the Tokyo University of the Arts, and Ueno is an alumnus. The two performers are dressed in looks from Fendi’s Pre-Fall 2020 Collection, and interpret the finale of Gioachino Rossini’s “William Tell Overture.”
