I’m devastated for our country, for the enormous loss of Ruth Bader Ginsburg, a beacon of light, wisdom, and justice. She was my hero, as she was for so many people, and I feel so grateful for her decades of service to our country, as well as the example of the life she lived of the most extraordinary love story, a tight-knit family, and deep appreciation of culture alongside her profound professional contributions. As NPR’s Nina Totenberg wrote: “A Jewish teaching says those who die just before the Jewish new year are the ones God has held back until the last moment because they were needed most and were the most righteous." To the most righteous among us, RBG, thank you and your family for your lifelong devotion to justice. May your memory be a revolution.
