A day to raise awareness about mental health These are increasingly difficult times for all. It’s a hard enough world to live in for many as is, and even harder now to physically get in touch and be there for loved ones Yet the tiniest of gestures could make a world of difference Even though we’re apart, I’m here for you I’m all ears and eyes for you R U Ok? As a sufferer from mental illness since childhood, I know the difficulties of opening up to others. I know the fear of not being understood Being in this industry, that suffering is amplified. Whatever, whoever you may be, inflicting pain on others shouldn’t be acceptable. We are all different and unique identities. Don’t forget we are all human too You can’t wear your hair like that after said age You can’t go out in that after said age You can’t be single, unmarried, childless You can’t do that because of said sex It’s a suffocating society we live in One I wanted out of too many times And it’s even more difficult to address these things depending on country/society/community/culture So why don’t we make the first step and ask someone how they are. Let them know we’re here for them. Respect their space, their decision to/not to talk Just three simple words at times could make all the difference. I know Who will you ask today?
