Even after the 19th amendment became the law of the land, many Black and voters of color, remained disenfranchised from this unequivocal right. Fast-forward to today, too many of us still do not cast our ballots. In 2016, 43% of America’s eligible voters—nearly 100 million people—didn’t cast a ballot. This year, only 40% of 18–29 year-olds say they plan to vote. We have the power to do more and make a difference through our vote.
