English painter and printmaker C R W Nevinson was a celebrated war artist, and captured these powerful images of soldiers marching, resting and fighting during the First World War.
Nevinson first served with the Red Cross during WWI, and made several sketches of his experiences with wounded soldiers, but was invalided out and become an Official War Artist in 1917.
He was born #onthisday in 1889.
