Register at our link in bio. I shot this photo about five months ago, in the mortuary of one of the biggest cemeteries in Milan. It was five days after the beginning of the lockdown in Italy. A woman looks at a coffin sent here from one of the city hospitals. It contains the body of a foreign citizen, who will be returned to the country of origin. On March 13, the day I shot this picture, there had been 890 victims of COVID-19 in Lombardy, Italy, which accounted for about two-thirds of the victims in the country. Today, Lombardy counts more than 96,000 infections and about 17,000 deaths. The numbers are slowly going down countrywide, but the state of emergency continues.
