Dr John “Dance The Night Away With You” from the City Lights album, written by Dr John & Doc Pomus, produced by Tommy LiPuma and Hugh McCracken. The band for this album was Steve Gadd, Richard Tee, John Tropea & Hugh McCracken, Arthur Jenkins, me, and of course Mac (Dr John). Man, we had a good time making that album. Dig Charlie Miller’s badass cornet solo on the full-length tune. (link in bio). I miss Mac, Richard, Hughie, Doc & Tommy LiPuma like crazy……Doc Pomus was at every NYC gig we ever did with Mac - he’d be in he corner, parked in his wheelchair, all by himself, listening to every note. #thisboyslife
