During my very first expedition to the Arctic Ocean, on board this ship, I completely fell in love with the landscape. I spent sleepless nights standing on the deck, mesmerized by the view and by the ever-changing sea ice. I felt connected to this environment, which may disappear in our lifetime during the summer months. On this trip, I decided I would focus my photography on the Arctic Ocean and work together with scientists to raise awareness of the changes. Since 2015 I've documented eleven scientific expeditions in the polar regions. Please follow @estherhorvath for more climate science stories.
