議論を始めるための情報をSNSで得られる時代。疑問を呈し、基本的人権のために糾弾の声を自由に発信できる時代。

二人の娘を育てる母として、女として、日々、女性の自由と権利について子どもたちと話すなか、先日、長女とのLINEのやりとりで彼女の言葉に深く考えさせられました。

『自由とは自分自身でいること。自分の真実を貫いて生きること。それに伴う責任を負える力があること。世の中には、自分自身でいるという権利すら持てない人々がいることを理解し、その人々の自由のために自分の特権を使えること』



ブラジルのジャーナリストが#challengeaccepted と付けて投稿したモノクロ写真から急激に広がったムーブメント。これは単なる「女性に対する差別に連帯して闘おう」という動きの表れだけではありません。

このチャレンジは、トルコ共和国で長きに亘って起きている女性たちに対する暴力への、また女性差別に起因する殺人(#TurkeyFemicide )への抗議として始まったものです。

初期の投稿についていた#kadinasiddetehayir (女性への暴力反対)、そして#instanbulszleşmesiyaşatır (女性への暴力防止にまつわるイスタンブール条約を施行せよ)というハッシュタグが、ムーブメントの拡大につれて抜け落ちてしまっています。ですから、このムーブメントに賛同する方は、是非これら2つのハッシュタグも付けて投稿(再投稿)してください。

An era where we can gather information for any discussion. Where we can bring up an issue and demand that our basic human rights should be met.

As a mother of two daughters and as an individual woman, I discuss about women’s rights and freedom with my children daily. A few days ago, my eldest daughter made me think of something very important.

She told me, “To be free, we must be ourselves. To live our truth we must be able to take the responsibility that comes with it. We also must understand that there are many people who don’t have any rights to be themselves. So, us privileged should be willing to use our privilege to help others become their true self."



What started from a Brazilian journalist posting a black and white selfie with the hashtag #challengeaccepted has spread quickly into a movement.

This isn’t just another “women supporting women” movement.

It originally started as a protest against the femicides that are happening in Turkey. #TurkeyFemicide

The original posts also have the hashtags #kadinasiddetehayir (No violence against women) and #instanbulszleşmesiyaşatır though, since the challenge has spread, these hashtags have fallen off. So please, if you are going to be part of this movement, repost with those hashtags too.
