MacKenzie Scott, formerly MacKenzie Bezos, has donated nearly $1.7 billion to a variety of organizations — including the NAACP Legal Defense and Education Fund, the Obama Foundation and the George W. Bush Presidential Center — after pledging last year to give away most of her fortune during her lifetime, she announced Tuesday. Scott, who divorced Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos last year, received a quarter of his Amazon shares in the settlement, and her net worth is estimated to be around $60 billion, according to the Bloomberg Billionaire’s Index.
