For as long as I can remember I’ve been running on empty which absolutely isn’t the way to live.  In college I went to school full time, had a job and an internship. That semester I ended up with the worst stomach aches from the amount of stress I was under.  Fast forward 11 years later and that mentality never stopped — if anything it got worse. I felt the pressure of over working myself, taking too much on my plate, needing to attend too many things, constant travel and it took a toll on me.  Since March, I’ve been forced to slow down. The silver lining of quarantine was that for the first time in a decade I didn’t have to live my life in a hurry.  I’m fortunate to be able to work remote / work from home and still keep really busy but I’ve also allowed myself to have a self-care routine that really works for me.  My morning routine starts my day, I’m eating healthier because I’m not rushing to grab food at the airport or between meetings, I’ve prioritized working out and moving my body, and getting myself on a somewhat normal sleep schedule. Someone asked me the other day, do I ever feel burnt out? The answer is yes! For as long as I can remember I’ve been running on empty which absolutely isn’t the way to live.

In college I went to school full time, had a job and an internship. That semester I ended up with the worst stomach aches from the amount of stress I was under.

Fast forward 11 years later and that mentality never stopped — if anything it got worse. I felt the pressure of over working myself, taking too much on my plate, needing to attend too many things, constant travel and it took a toll on me.
