A scholar in the ancient technique of Chinese ink painting, Hao unites traditional Eastern process and historical landscapes with Western movements in art, such as abstraction and cubism. Painting on silk with custom plant-derived materials, Hao's work sees nature, poetry, and generations of Chinese dynasties in coexistence with masters from the West, such as Wassily Kandinsky and Sergei Eisenstein.
