Everything in life is impermanent.
As women, that can mean both the way we feel and look. It can change daily, weekly, monthly... it changes based on our stage of life and on what's happening around us (and we know there's been a lot going on this year!).

People often use transformation photos (or videos) to assess visual progress. But this transformation is NOT about the way I LOOK.
I always take progress videos and photos to remind myself in the future, of how I FELT at different times in my life. On the left, I was recently post-natal. After I gave birth to Arna, I literally couldn’t shower myself or sit up out of bed without someone lifting me. This video is from when I first went back to the gym, and when I tried to walk on the treadmill I could hardly put one foot in front of the other. I felt so weak and I was scared I would never get my strength and fitness back. I was scared I may not feel confident again. As a personal trainer, and someone who works hard on and prides themselves on physical performance, this was a TERRIFYING set of emotions and thoughts to deal with. I had never felt like this before - health and fitness has always been a huge part of my life. Yes, I have dealt with adversity, but never had I felt like this in this way.

The point of this transformation is to show you that it is possible to FEEL strong, confident and fit again even when at times we think that may never happen - and that our feelings are not dependent on how we look. Even though it was a struggle, rebuilding my strength has been one of the most empowering experiences of my life.

#BBGcommunity, I wanted to share this with you all to say if you are feeling lost, nervous or afraid to start working out (whether you have had a baby or you have never trained before), I UNDERSTAND. That is exactly how I felt. I want you to know, if you feel the way that I felt... sore, tired, weak... I get it. It will take time, hard work, consistency and patience, but I did it, and you can, too. All you need to do is start, and put one foot in front of the other.
