ガゴシアン・ギャラリーさんのインスタグラム写真 - (ガゴシアン・ギャラリーInstagram)「#FromTheArchive: “For me, one of the most memorable exhibitions during my twenty-one years at Gagosian is the 2015 show in which we recreated Roy Lichtenstein’s ‘Green Street Mural.’ The original mural had been made in 1983 for a 95 × 18 foot wall at Leo Castelli’s Greene Street gallery. To reimagine the work at Gagosian on 24th Street we had to build a comparable wall and find a way to paint an exact replica. This was a complicated process because the documentation of the original was good, but not perfect; we had to consult preparatory collages, drawings, and photos. The end result was overwhelming and the exhibition was complemented by a display of all the archival material we had consulted, as well as a selection of Lichtenstein works that resonated with images from the mural.
