A fusion of citizen science and sustainable tourism on board the 1965 classic yacht, Falcao Uno. Under the leadership of marine biologists from @cleanwavemovement, they created a floating laboratory, investigating invasive species and micro plastic pollution; in collaboration with
Lifexperiences Events they are exploring new ways to engage tourists in the protection and regeneration of the Mediterranean Sea.
Here in the photo they use the Manta to trawl for microplastics off the coast of Mallorca. Plastic pollution continues to threaten the delicate marine ecosystem of the Mediterranean Sea, as the world's population consumes 1 million plastic bottles every minute.
On board the floating laboratory, Falcao Uno, marine biologists and @cleanwavemovement founder Philipp Baier, work together on a marine citizen science initiative, Med Gardens, to regenerate the coastal seabeds around the Balearic Islands.
