He started working at a bodega with his dad when he was a kid, so opening his own store was a dream come true. Even though he’s usually in the back hustling to prep lunch, his customers always make sure to get his attention by shouting his name when they come in. Less traffic from the pandemic has hurt his business – he says he’s never seen anything quite like this in his four years of ownership. But, he did enjoy when he got to tell the locals that his shop was going to be on TV after a news crew came in to interview his team. Is an Instagram post as cool as local TV?
