Congratulations to all of the students presenting their work at the annual Science and Research Mentoring Program (SRMP) Research Colloquium today! This past year, 58 students worked with mentors from across the Museum’s scientific departments on subjects ranging from spider venom to brown dwarfs. Through the program, students have learned cutting-edge techniques, leveraged state-of-the-art tools, attended sessions about science professions, practiced presentation skills, and participated in college readiness activities. Xavier (pictured), for example, has been working with postdoctoral researcher Phillip "Skip" Skipwith to analyze snake specimens from the Museum’s herpetology collection.
