Alors qu'elle était restée très en retrait d'Athènes à l'époque géométrique, Corinthe va devenir l'atelier céramique dominant de l'époque orientalisante (VIIe siècle av.-J.-C.). Although Corinth was very much in Athens's shadow during the Geometric period, it became the leading center for ceramic production during the Orientalizing period (seventh century BC).
