On 16 June, 1972, Bowie released his fifth studio album - The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars. It's a concept album which tells the story of the fictional rock star Ziggy Stardust, who had risen to stardom just as humanity has reached its final five years of existence. Like many rock stars, he ended up the victim of his own 'Rock ‘n’ Roll Suicide'.
