ガゴシアン・ギャラリーさんのインスタグラム写真 - (ガゴシアン・ギャラリーInstagram)「"I want the form to almost appear like a mirage." —Sarah Sze Sarah Sze's sculpture "Shorter than the Day" is now on view at the new LaGuardia Airport which opens to the public today. Named after a line in an Emily Dickinson poem, this monumental constellation is constructed from a vast matrix of metal rods. At the center are more than 900 photographs of the sky over New York. Taken through the course of one day, the photographs form a visual timekeeper of the sun as it tracks the sky from dawn to dusk. This site-specific artwork, which is suspended from a central spot on the ceiling of the Departures level, was commissioned by the Public Art Fund and LaGuardia Gateway Partners as part of the airport’s ongoing transformation.
