In light of the far-reaching effects of the global Covid-19 pandemic, the LOEWE FOUNDATION and the Musée des Arts Décoratifs have taken the decision to postpone the fourth edition of the LOEWE FOUNDATION Craft Prize until Spring 2021.
Our commitment to craft remains as strong as ever and the @LOEWEfoundation will continue to support each finalist during this period through a new programme of filmed studio tours to further illuminate their stories and celebrate their crafts.
Through the programme we will put the spotlight on each of the 30 shortlisted candidates, hailing from 6 continents and 18 different countries, including Australia, Canada, Chile, China, Denmark, France, Germany, Iran, Ireland, Israel, Japan, Kenya, Republic of Korea, Madagascar, Pakistan, Spain, the United Kingdom and United States of America.
The Craft Prize shortlist recognises artists who have made fundamentally important contributions to the development of contemporary craft, ranging from recently graduated and newly emerging artists to well- known names and esteemed leaders in their fields. With this ethos in mind, we look forward to continuing this journey with renewed creativity and optimism. The prize awarded to the winner is 50,000 euros in cash and the announcement will be made in Spring 2021.
