However, I empathize with small business owners. I really do. Revolutions are messy, but they are necessary because the systems of white supremacy and capitalism must be eliminated. The rebellions of enslaved peoples were messy too...they weren’t tidy parades. The centuries of damage to and destruction of Black lives must stop. Every day, I work towards a different future, but the longer non-Black people refuse to do the work of liberation, the messier the process will be.
