This week has been a difficult time of reflection and hugging our dogs tight. We've been asking what concrete action BARK is taking to stand up for what we know is right. It’s a question that doesn’t have a quick answer - and we need to continue to ask ourselves this question this week and beyond, so we can find opportunities to be impactful in meaningful ways.⁠

We are actively committed to overcoming passivity and bias that is damaging, dangerous, and just plain wrong. This week we’re reminded of all of the opportunities we have as a company to recommit ourselves to learning, listening, and doing better. One of the concrete things we are doing as of this week is a matching donation program.⁠

For the month of June we’re matching our employees’ donations dollar for dollar to organizations that we feel are doing important work in our communities. Right now the BARK family is spread out across the nation, and we wanted to be able to spread our impact. So if a Columbus coworker donates to the Columbus Freedom Fund (@columbusfreedomfund), we do too. If an NYC coworker donates to the NAACP Legal Defense Fund (@naacp_ldf), we do too.⁠
