If we enjoy black culture in the form of art, music, fashion, and entertainment - it's our responsibility to try to understand the struggle of the black communities from where that culture comes. It's OK not to understand. It's not OK to ignore the inequalities that exist. That is an abuse of privilege, that is social injustice. (And if you think racism doesn't exist in Japan, just ask your black/mixed-race friends how many times they've been stopped by police here.)⁣⁣
