“I hate how it’s cool to have a black friend until shit hits the fan. 
Cause then you’ll say things like, “why riot over just one man?” Claim things like “stop the violence and increase the peace”
When at the hands of White Supremacists black bodies hit the streets.
You’ll claim “homie, my brother, I support your fight,” But still fail to see we don’t have equal rights. 
You’ll claim our music, our fashion, and our kicks 
But then say things like “I don’t like to get involved in politics.” To me, all these claims are just (white) noise:
You protest over a knee for football but not for the life of George Floyd. 
The irony is you should practice what you preach
Because when I am outraged you never seem to speak. 
Well the longer you stay silent, I don’t think you notice,
That you being quiet supports the White Racist Motive.

So I’m hoping this poem will make you reflect
That another life is lost the more of us you neglect. 
You make a choice when you don’t use your tongue: 
You help tie the noose for another black man to get hung. 
So listen to me carefully when I speak these facts: 
whether we are suffocated in the streets or shot in the back, 
Your silence just MURDERED a person who was BLACK.” #blacklivesmatter
