I have spent time over the past few days listening, signing petitions, donating and educating myself and something I have heard a lot from my black friends and posts on social media is that they don’t want to hear us saying how shocked we are - the fact that we are shocked because it’s so far off our radar is wildly offensive to them, which makes total sense.
