My heart is broken. It always has been, but today more than ever I feel angry, confused, upset and ashamed.
I spent the majority of my childhood being taught racism was a thing of the past and that we had moved on, and made our amends. That was wrong and so far from the truth.
A big part of the reason I stand in my position is because of the open arms of black people in America who supported and celebrated my music, which is SO heavily influenced by the black voice. And now I want to use my voice.

Educate yourself. Educate your friends. Educate your families. Shout and stand in front of our fellow humans and take the heat for them. Help them. Free them. Love them.
