I had arrived with very little experience, a whole lot of ambition, and a goal to send my first 7a+ (5.12a). A whole number grade higher than my hardest sport climb at that point (which was 5.11a). I was successful on that trip and sent a total of 3 routes of that grade, plus a bonus 7b (5.12b). It was the trip that I felt like officially made me a confident sport climber. A year later in December of 2019. I returned with more confidence, honed skills, and what I considered the shining achievement of having sent my first 5.13a. I had just learned how to climb stalactites in Sicily, and I felt confident that here in Greece, I would be able to achieve my goal of sending my second 5.13a.
