Senjojiki Cirque
(Komagane City, Miyata Village)

Directly below the peak of Mt. Hoken is Senjojiki Cirque, a precipitous bowl carved out of the mountains by millennia of glacial action. 

During summer, the cirque is a paradise above the clouds, covered in precious alpine flowers.

The Central Alps, including Mt. Hoken and the Kiso Range, have been designated as the 57th quasi-national park of Japan due to their cultural and ecological importance.

*The Komagatake Ropeway is currently undergoing maintenance and will be closed until early June. For details on its reopening, please see its official website.
