クリス・バーカードさんのインスタグラム写真 - (クリス・バーカードInstagram)「“Siberian Wind” they call it, so cold it will make you want to vomit when your fingers thaw out. Confession...The last time I picked up a camera for proper work was early February. It was northern Japan during a window of dream conditions shooting snowboarding in Hokkaido. We escaped for a day of surfing & were greeted with about as heinous of weather as you could expect, but as always we made the most of it. I can still feel the sting of the cold & hear the whip of the wind. In many ways I’m ok with the fact that it’s been many months since I’ve used my so called “profession” to create an image. Because the ones I have made seem to stick with me for a long time. That is the beauty of rugged & harsh places... the more effort you put in the greater they seem to reward you. It seems silly but I felt a lot of emotion tonight looking back at these images because it brought me so much happiness. The crew, the food, the random 7-11 stops at midnight, the ramen, the language barrier, the frozen fingers, lack of sleep, the onsens. All in the name of creating a story worth sharing. Thanks @billabong @iwanairesort @billabong_snowboarding @bodemerrill for that last assignment - it was a good one!」5月13日 13時36分 - chrisburkard
