It’s been looking pretty different for the last couple of months, but I’m proud of everyone for doing their best to practice social distancing, and wearing masks when out and about. The only food I’ve had that I did not cook myself was picked up from local businesses around me. I was already on the “shop local” crusade, but now more than ever it’s so important to support our neighborhood small businesses. If there is any hope of these shops and restaurants surviving right now, which I believe are the personality and essence of a neighborhood, it’s by buying their food and goods. It was an awkward, but quick transition. Everyone is doing their best to protect themselves and their community. The billionaires who own the big box shops and online retail monopolies will be fine. My neighbor who makes the best pasta from scratch, or serves the most perfect veggie sandwich might not be, and if I’m spending any money at all right now then I want it to go to them.」5月9日 1時32分
