The stores point of pride was always bringing together creators and clothes from around the world. Kind of like the Olympics, get it? In 2019, partly in response to all the negative politics about Mexico, the founders Carol Lim and Humberto Leon curated the Year of Mexico featuring Mexican designers and partnering with a Mexican non-profit that was the largest in the country supporting women’s causes. There I found a rack of beautifully crafted jackets. Local, small and independent, this brand views people as an asset and protects the human rights, health, safety and dignifying conditions of their workers as well as preserving the heritage of artisans and craft. And so I met @dancassab Coveting but thinking more before purchasing, shortly after an email from a PR person for the brand appeared in my box asking if I’d like a gift and like all the other magic that’s happened in this social media life I got to actually own the jacket. And at a time I was obsessed with roses, pinks, oranges and browns. These beautiful pants are also from Mexico and the same PR person introduced me to them as well. My pants are another story for another post about Mexico, a trip and a city of artists. So on this very cold day in May, slumped on the floor because I’m tired of sitting on my furniture these colors and clothes are both warm and exciting.
