COVID SMART is a not for profit organisation run up by two women who have first-hand knowledge and experience of the front line. COVID SMART donates the proceeds from testing to help key workers in immediate, practical, grass root ways. These donations include PPE for hospitals and care homes around the UK, shower blocks, towels and soap for decontamination (when leaving hospitals), grief counselling and research. Their motto is “hurry to help’ so any donations received are used immediately.
Covid Smart have been working with some major donors and partners including Soho House, The White Company, and Connolly.
Covid Smart is run by Dr Ali Joy @dralijoy, a doctor with a special interest in adult medicine having worked in cardiology at The National Heart Hospital and ICU at St Georges Hospital, and Keeley Foley a barrister who has worked in international and human rights law and is training to be a podiatric surgeon.
