so, my liver is getting a minor break. but do not worry, for this weeks episodes of “she’s losing her mind” posts... i’m taking you on a little cyber safari. a few months ago, my life was significantly altered by spending a month filming a movie in south africa. at the end of it, i was fortunate enough to go on a safari with a friend. i have finally finished going through all the thousands of photos i took. they are still unedited, but hey, life is unedited. my friend and i stayed at the most magical place on earth. it’s called “singita”. you guys. yes, it was the most luxurious spot i’d ever seen, and yes they went out of their way to give us the experience of a LIFETIME (stargazing with wine in the middle of the bush!? check). (breakfast under a canopy of trees after walking through the bush learning about their anti-poaching work? check). (roses and champagne and romantic music in our room after dinner? check). but even more than that, the WORK, the CARE, the CONSERVATION they are doing for the lands and animals of africa is absolutely astounding. i was left in complete and utter awe and respect for the efforts they are making in conservation. i’ll talk more about it over the next few days, but i was truly truly truly blown away. and right now, with budgets being cut and tourism being so heavily affected by the virus, it is so nice to know that places like @singita_ exist to preserve wildlife. their anti-poaching efforts are unprecedented. their integrity in consistently marrying tourism with conservation is remarkable. i cant say enough about them. anyways, since we’re all stuck at home, i figured that we can all have FOMO together for not being able to go on real-life adventures, and we can look at all the wild creatures @singita_ nurtures every day. one day...i’ll be back.
