Here is the studio tour in Spanish with Chilean jewellery artist Rita Soto (@ritasotojoyas) as part of 'LOEWE EN CASA' - a series of online events and workshops to enjoy while you #StayAtHome.

Soto has served as president of Chile’s Guild of Contemporary Chilean Jewellers, and also founded jewellery school Lajoia Lab in 2012. Soto was a finalist in the @LOEWEfoundation Craft Prize 2018.

Learning her craft from her father, Soto fuses her expertise in industrial design with her country’s age-old traditions to create her own artistic pieces. Soto says: "I dedicate myself to the construction of objects and pieces of jewellery made from horsehair using a micro basketry technique. This is a very typical Chilean technique, carried out for more than 200 years, first using tree roots, later incorporating horsehair and the vegetable fiber. The hair of the horse's tail that is used is 2 millimeters thick; I also use cords, threads, silver and gold thread. It is a very slow process; there have been times where it took me more than two hours to knit 2 centimeters." #LOEWE #StayHome
