Finding hidden treasures 🖤 While this chapter of my life is over, it drives everything that I am now pursuing in life. My goal is to help athletes in ways that I may not have gotten. I am here to make a difference. Something I remember is never skating a day pain free. It was not only the physical demands of my sport but also the psychological component. The work hard or go home mentality, no pain no gain. “By rewarding such effort without also emphasizing the need to recognize and accept injuries, coaches encourage their athletes to play hurt or take undue risks (Williams and Scherzer 2015)”. Taking the time for yourself mentally as well as for your body is the ONLY way to make it and be able to accomplish your goals.
