Smaller crowds make for a quieter getaway for myself and those willing to experience the off-season. Coming to these spots near the river really gives me some time to slow down and reflect. During clear nights sitting under the stars, it feels as if everything comes to a halt; time seems to stop and I can be truly present. Living only a few hours' drive away is something I will never take for granted.
