This is on my list of beautiful things to see in person, along with The Peacock Clock in St. Petersburg. ⁣ ⁣ 🦢 The Silver Swan via @studio54laura: The silver swan was crafted by jeweller James Cox in 1773 . It is a life size automation that imitates the behaviour of a real swan . It is one of the finest examples of it’s size in the world . Inside the swan is a music box that plays , and when fully wound the glass rods rotate giving the illusion of running water. The swan moves it’s head from side to side and also preens itself, and after a few moments the swan notices the swimming fish and it bends to eat one . It has more than 2000 moving parts with 113 in the neck alone .
